Between side quests, main quests and open world events there’s plenty to do in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Should you find these activities not enough and want some generic, repeatable and incidentally very lucrative quests to complete, however, you always have Contracts you can peruse! This page will cover how Contracts worth in Assassin’s Creed Shadows!
Page Breakdown¶
Unlocking Contracts¶
You can pick up Contracts from any Kakurega building in the game, and since you have to construct one upon reaching the Hideout during the quest From Spark to Flame, so pretty much from the start of the game, post-prologue. Find the box of Contracts on the floor of any Kakurega and interact with it to browse the Contracts within - there are three active Contracts per region and potentially some opportunities - all you have to do is accept the contracts to mark them on your map.

Contract Completion and Rewards¶
As mentioned earlier, every season you’ll get three Contracts per region. Select one or more of them and an enemy camp will be marked on your map, tasking you with a simple objective requiring you to go to said camp and kill all the enemies, kill the enemy leader, loot a chest or destroy a parcel. Whatever the case, the camps all have a similar layout and are occupied by around half a dozen enemies (barring foot traffic - in some cases random travelling enemies can also end up involved), often including an elite and perhaps one heavy. You don’t always have to kill every foe, but these camps usually have 2-4 units of each resource and a chest, in addition to whatever quest reward you get for meeting the objective, so it’s usually worth your while to clear the camp.
Contracts typically come in three forms, as far as rewards go: Mon, resources and crafting materials. Of the three, the Mon reward is usually the least appeal - even if you want Mon! You can earn hundreds of resources and materials each Contract you clear, which is by far the best way to accumulate these, but if you want Mon, selling any excess resources and crafting materials is bound to be worth considerably more Mon than the actual Mon reward Contract! To balance things out somewhat, the Mon reward contract also offers around double the EXP as the others, but all offer 1000-2000+ EXP and you can expect hundreds or thousands of Mon worth of materials for each contract, too, making them stupidly lucrative for how simple they are. If you want to level up (relatively) quickly or earn Mon, resources or crafting materials, Contracts are almost certainly going to be the best way to do this, and once you’ve got access to Kukarega in multiple regions, you could just make the rounds and clear contracts for big gains, if you were so inclined.

Opportunities¶
In addition to Contracts, each time you view the contents of the Contracts box you’ll see some listed Opportunities, which just provide map markers for undiscovered points of interest in a region (provided you haven’t discovered them all, that is). These include merchants, legendary chests, shrines, castles, temples and more Kakurega. Only two opportunities appear at a time, but again, if you make the rounds through each region every season, you’ll slowly fill out your map… ideally in addition to what you’ll find from casual exploration and finding vantage points. It sure beats roaming the countryside blindly, trying to dispel the fog of war in seach of that odd map marker you’ve missed!
All in all, Contracts are a great way to earn just about every resource in the game, save arms and armor. If you need EXP, Mon, resources or crafting materials, you should consider completing contracts. Opportunities will also fill out your map, making a trip to the Contracts box an important part of your routine if you have aspirations of completionism!
