You’ve finally reunited with Matsu and helped her secure a small cabin in the mountains of Iga, after taking care of a fraudulent monk. Upon doing so, you spoke to an old man that was being harassed by the monk, with him mentioning that his granddaughter seemingly being injured. Returning to Matsu to tell her of the good news about the cabin will have her asking you to help the child by getting some maggots.
Good for What Ails You - Maggots Location¶
All Matsu tells you about the maggots is to find something dead near the water, although the quest clues are a little better than that. They mention they are in southern Nabari Wilds, to the south of the Hinotani Shrine. Specifically, you will need to go to the top of a waterfall to find them. The easiest way to get there is to venture to the river to the south of Hinotani Shrine, then follow it east/south. You will discover the Akame Shi Waterfalls not too far into the little journey, which is a good thing.
(1 of 4) Matsu wants you to find some maggots to help with the granddaughter’s injuries.
It might be a little challenging to climb up the waterfall, but the rocks on the eastern side do allow you to get up the first one. When you arrive at the second big waterfall, you should see a blue dot at the top of it. Similar to the first one, the rocks on the eastern side allow for a much easier time scaling the cliffside here. Once you reach the top, you can take a small break and ignore the blue dot, as a little further south will be the Path of Shadows, one of the side activities exclusive to Naoe.
When you’re done with that, return to the blue dot to find a dead animal there, completely covered in maggots. Gather some, then return to the cabin and speak with Matsu to finish the quest, as well as start the last one, Shadows and Light.
