One of the first two assassination targets in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is known simply as The Wounded. As with The Golden Teppo, you have a series of quests ahead of you in order to hunt down the masked man. This becomes available as soon as you gain access to the Hideout, and it is part of the main story, so it must be done in order to complete the game. The first quest in this chain is called The Fatherless Monk, which is a shorter quest, but sets up the premise for the rest of them.
Gaisenji Temple is found to the south of Sakai and where you need to go to find Kyonyo.
The Fatherless Monk Location¶
As said above, you will automatically unlock this once during From Spark to Flame, where you not only gain access to the Hideout, but also the Objective Board. To find one of her father’s killers, Naoe learns that a monk by the name of Kyonyo might know of their location. In order to find Kyonyo, though, you will have to locate the Gansenji Temple, as the game says that’s where he’s to be found.
Gansenji Temple Location¶
If you’ve already been to Sakai, which you should have if you’ve complete The Golden Teppo, then you won’t have to go too far to find Gansenji Temple. From the southern end of Sakai, cross the bridge out of the town to the south, and continue in that direction, making moving a tiny bit towards the east, where you’ll find the entrance to the temple. Upon getting close enough, Naoe will comment about hearing some fighting going on, so she decides to take a closer look.
It appears the monks here are fighting some samurai, and your goal is to simply help them out. These are pretty simple enemies here, and they’re all marked for you, so none of them will be hidden. Most of them will likely be occupied with the monks, meaning you can walk up to them and just start slashing them with your katana. At that point, they may try to attack you, so be ready to block/parry, just in case. After defeating all of the enemies, find Kyonyo and speak with him.
(1 of 4) As you get close to the temple, you overhear sounds of a big fight.
While the conversation is ongoing, you learn that The Wounded’s real name is Wada Koretake. There will be some dialog choices here, but they don’t matter, so pick whatever you want. Two new quests will open up following this, The Killing Field and Stolen Faith. They both must be completed to open the final quest in the chain, but you can do whichever one you want first.
