One of the best ways to get around in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is by using your horse, especially when following the various paths and roads. All horses in the game are the same, with only their visual component being the difference, so you don’t have to worry about their speed or anything else. Despite that, your horses do come in various rarities, like your equipment. Most of the horses will fall under the normal rarities, but there is one hidden horse in an underwater cave that is a Legendary Mount.
Namazu is the name of a legendary horse you can find in the game.
Where to Find the Legendary Mount¶
In order to find this legendary mount, named Namazu, you’ll have to journey to the Omi Region, located in the northeastern part of the map. The most striking feature of the Omi region is the large lake in the middle of it, Lake Biwa. There are a number of islands on Lak Biwa, two of which are larger than the others. The southern of these two larger islands is named Okishima and that’s where you want to go. You can either swim to the island or use one of the boats that you can commandeer.
However you get there, once you’re on the island, it’s a good idea to grab the Viewpoint there. You will also find a Kakurega here, so if you have the money, purchase it for another fast travel point. With that out of the way, head on over to the western side of the island, looking for a large bonfire. There might be some pirates here, so kill them before you go diving into the waters. With the coast clear, go into the waters and search for the underwater cave.

Note that it’ll likely be hard to see the entrance to the cave, but if you search a little northwest from the bonfire, you should notice a large swimming area right next to the island. Upon locating the cave, surface to get your breath back, then go back under and into the cave. It is linear, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost, but the chest is at the end and you’re going to run out of air getting to it. Don’t let this worry you, as you gradually lose health a little bit at a time after running out of air.
The chest will contain the Namazu Legendary Mount, so once you have it, quickly leave the cave and resurface. It’s automatically in your inventory, so there’s nothing else you have to do other than equip it now. Remember that this mount is no different than any other, in terms of abilities, as it’s nothing more than just an aesthetic choice.
