There are a number of miscellaneous trophies and achievements in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows that have you doing a specific task outside of completing quests. You are able to inflict some status ailments on enemies, thanks to having said effect on your weapon. One of those ailments is Bleed, which will build up over time as you strike an enemy and once the gauge is full, then the enemy will lose a chunk of health. To unlock this trophy/achievement, you need to make sure the enemy dies from the Bleed and as soon as this happens, sheath your weapon.

Finding a Bleed Weapon

In the early parts of the game, you might be hard-pressed to find a weapon with Bleed on it, simply because most weapons you get will be of a lower quality and they’ll have random stats/effects. However, there is a katana that you can easily find for Naoe that is set in stone, as far as effects go for it. That will be the Bloodshade katana, a legendary weapon that can be found in the starting region upon reaching the open world. This weapon is found in a chest on a ship off the coast of Izumi Settsu.

It is northwest of Sakai, and south of Amagasaki, both sub-regions in Izumi Settsu. The very large ship is a restricted area filled with enemies, so either clear them out or sneak to the chest in the upstairs room. For more information on getting this weapon, check out the Bloodshade Weapon page. The key point of this weapon is it should have 18% Bleed Buildup on it, which is what you want for this trophy/achievement.

How to Sheath Your Weapon - AC Shadows

Now that you have a weapon with Bleed on it, you can set out to try for this trophy/achievement. Of course, the game doesn’t offer a clear tutorial on how to sheath your weapon. Whenever you have your weapon out, you can simply put it away by holding right on the directional pad. To unlock this, you have to sheath your weapon immediately after an enemy dies from the Bleed damage. This isn’t something that is going to be that easy to do, as you have to time your blows, so that the Bleed is the thing that kills them.

(1 of 2) Attacking enemies will cause the Bleed to build up from the weapon.

With the Bloodshade, the Bleed effect won’t dissipate either, which can be both good and bad. It’s good because you won’t have to worry about what you’ve built up disappearing, but you might not get the health low enough for Bleed to kill. You’re never going to run short of enemies for this trophy/achievement, but it’s best to try this on single enemies, so you don’t get swarmed by others. The key point is that the Bleed icon under an enemy’s health bar is full when you are dealing the final hit.

If you are having trouble with it, go into your settings and increase the combat difficulty. This should make it a little harder to finish the enemy before you have a chance to inflict Bleed. As soon as the enemy dies, hold right on the directional pad to sheath your weapon and the trophy/achievement should unlock.
