Throughout the course of your journey in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, you will meet certain NPCs that can join your group. One of these characters is someone named Ibuki, who isn’t related to one of the main quests, but actually a side quest. Similarly to Gennojo, who was only available to Naoe, Ibuki is only available to Yasuke. In order to start the quests for Ibuki, you will first need to find the Ambush Interrupted side quest, found in the Iga Region.

Ambush Interrupted Location¶
You will find this side quest in the Iga region, in Kashiwara Village. If you don’t know where this is, it’s south of the Hijiyama sub-region name on the map, which is southwest of Ichinomiya. You’ll find Ibuki standing in the middle of a field, speaking with some villagers. When you talk to them, they think you’re there to finish the job you started at Iga. You can offer some relief by replying that I have changed. They mention that someone named Nakatomi is ruling with an iron fist and while speaking with Ibuki, some of his men will show up, sparking a battle.
There are a good number of men that you will have to defeat in order to complete this quest, all of which will have a marker above their heads. The only problem is that this is a big, open battle, so there is bound to be other people that join in, like an errant guard or maybe even a wandering ronin. It’s quite easy to get overwhelmed, so you’ll want to make things a little easier by focusing on single enemies until they are defeated.

You should also be careful about the ranged enemies here, who you will want to go after first, simply because they are annoying and it can be difficult to keep up with their shots amidst the chaos. After thinning out the numbers some, things will get simpler, as there won’t be as many enemies. You may have to hunt down one or two, depending on if they go after someone else or not.
After taking out all of the enemies, find Ibuki and speak to them to finish the quest.
