Starting the Shinobi Warfare Kuji Kiri Quest¶
You can find Kuji Kiri’s scattered across Japan but the first four that you’ll come across in the Izumi Settsu region will have a short quest tied to them and it doesn’t matter which one you visit as the game will automatically trigger the quests in order. The Kuji Kiri can be found in the following locations:
- Eboshigata Hachiman Shrine - Southwest of the Hideout
- Fujibayashi Homestead - Northeast of Osaka Castle
- Rolling Glen - East of Osaka Castle
- Kawachi Heights - Southeast of the Hideout
Reach Nagano Pass¶
If you’ve successfully completed the short rhythm mini-game then the quest will begin, then follow Matsu manually or have the game do it for you by holding X/A then when you reach a shrine, interact with it to trigger a scene. You’ll now be tasked with reaching Nagano Pass so make your way up the hill to the east until you begin to come across some enemies, then crouch by holding in Square/X and sneak through the grass to avoid getting detected.
(1 of 2) Use the long grass to reach the top of Nagano Pass undetected.
Use the long grass to reach the top of Nagano Pass undetected. (left), Make sure you avoid Oda Brute’s red attacks other wise you’ll take lots of damage. (right)
If you notice an enemy is blocking your way through then we recommend remaining in the grass and whistling by pressing down on the d-pad to lure them towards your location and then assassinate them by pressing Triangle/Y. Once you reach the Igan Troops a cutscene will play out and you’ll need to take down the Oda Brute.
Defeat Oda Brute¶
This opponent shouldn’t cause you much difficulty as he’s only level one, but we recommend taking a more defensive approach as Naoe doesn’t have much health so you can’t take too many attacks. The easiest way to win this battle is by parrying his attacks (blue) and he typically does four strikes in a row. If you see a red light then make sure you quickly dodge to the side as this isn’t an attack you can parry. A cutscene will play out following the battle and the quest will come to a close and you’ll be rewarded with 500 XP and a Knowledge Point
