When you finally meet up with Kyonyo in The Fatherless Monk, you learned the identity of The Wounded, who happened to be Wada Koretake. In order to bring the fight to him, one of the things you have to do is kill his executioner. Your goal for this mission is to hunt the executioner and bring him down for good. This page will detail the location of the Nanatsumatsu and how to avoid getting detected at the enemy camp.
Nanatsumatsu is located to the west of Amagasaki Castle.
Nanatsumatsu Location¶
Nanatsumatsu is located in the northern part of Izumi Settsu, to the west fo Amagasaki. If you haven’t been there yet, then you’ll have to swim across the river separating Osaka and Amagasaki. If you’ve already completed Stolen Faith, though, then you’ve been there. Find Amagasaki Castle and ride to the west of it to find Nanatsumatsu; it’s also pretty much due east from Nishinomiya Shrine Town. Upon approaching the enemy camp, which is restricted of course, you will see the Executioner has some prisoners.
The Killing Field - Stealth Approach¶
The first thing you should do is activate Eagle Eye and mark all of the enemies in the camp, including Shindo Hiroshii, the Executioner. If you wish to do things stealthily, then start out at the northern end of the camp. There will be an enemy stationed there, behind some banners, which should block everyone else’s view of you dropping down to assassinate him. From there, look to the right (while facing the banners) to see an enemy doing some digging, who will be the next target.
(1 of 3) Use your Eagle Eye to mark all of the enemies before you infiltrate the camp.
As soon as you kill him, either exit the camp or go prone, crawling into the tunnel in the middle of the camp. The second body will most likely be discovered by the one roaming guard, so wait until he’s alone before swiftly, and quietly, killing him. Return to that tunnel and go out to the other side, where you can assassinate the enemy right behind Shindo, although he won’t hear it happening. Things are getting easier at this point, since there will now be fewer enemies.
If you wish to thin the numbers some more, go after the guard stationed at the eastern end next. You could also potentially go straight after Shindo Hiroshii next, but he has three health segments, so unless you have the upgrade in the Assassin skill tree, he will survive and things will devolve into a normal fight. Should that happen, he has combos that you can block/parry (blue sparks) and some unblockable strikes (red ones). Try to fight him in the middle of the camp, if possible, since you want to have some room to dodge the unblockable slashes.
(1 of 2) If things devolve into a normal fight, Shindo has some unblockable attacks.
If things devolve into a normal fight, Shindo has some unblockable attacks. (left), Wait until he uses his combos to parry them and make him vulnerable. (right)
Upon finally killing him, you will find a letter on him that mentions Koretake being in Amagasaki Castle. This will conclude the quest, but if you want to be nice, don’t forget to free the prisoners in the middle of the camp. You will also probably want to go around and loot any chests/materials for your Hideout.
