After finishing up both Stolen Faith and The Killing Field in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, you will unlock the final quest under The Wounded, called Heads Will Roll. You’ve learned the location of Wada Koretake, who’s hiding inside Amagasaki Castle, so it’s finally time to bring his life to an end. This page will detail how to easily kill Wada Koretake, as well as provide the answers to recruiting Yaya.

Heads Will Roll Location

Prior to starting the quest, you will see a distortion from the Animus on the field. You will have to walk through this distortion before you’re allowed to officially start the mission, but it’s nothing more than a short cutscene. After it’s over, the Animus category will be added to the Objective Board, which has some optional quests on it that have time limits. Doing these get you shards that contribute to the Animus Projects, allowing you to progress those and receive rewards.

(1 of 2) Heads Will Roll can be found just east of Amagasaki Castle.

To start this quest, you will need to have completed both Stolen Faith and The Killing Field. Head to the Amagasaki sub-region in the north of Izumi Settsu and you will notice a marker just east of Amagsaki Castle. Once you are free of the Animus glitch, speak to Kyonyo and choose to start the mission when you’re ready. Note that once you start the quest, you will have to complete it, so there’s nowhere else to go.

Kill the Snipers at the Gate

Once the cutscene is over, you will see that things are a bit chaotic, as the monks and Wada’s troops are engaged in an all-out battle. Upon regaining control, your first mission will be to kill some snipers at the gate. There are several of these in the area, but they are all marked with an icon, so you don’t have to go hunting them down blindly. The first will be straight ahead, so go over to him and strike him down. Just be careful about fighting them, since they like to do an unblockable kick to knock you backwards.

(1 of 2) The first objective has you going after some marked snipers.

The first objective has you going after some marked snipers. (left), They shouldn’t pose any problems, but they can perform an unblockable kick sometimes. (right)

There are three snipers in the initial area and after taking them down, you can find more to the east. If you remain quiet during the trek to the other snipers, then you should be able to make the next part a little easier on yourself. Confronting the snipers is fine, since they are already engaged with the monks, but try not to be seen by any other enemies along the way. When you’ve taken care of the snipers, your next objective is to go after Wada Koretake.

Assassinate Wada Koretake

Koretake is in the courtyard and if you’ve remained stealthy, then you won’t have them searching for you. Be mindful of some higher elevations here, since there are some archers/snipers on top. Your first goal should be to kill them first, so you won’t have them watching over the courtyard. There should be around three or four of these, so keep using your Eagle Eye to scout them out. From there, you can look for any other enemies that might be isolated and pick them off, too.

(1 of 5) In the courtyard, go after the ranged enemies first to minimize being seen.

Besides Koretake, there is another enemy in the area named Castle Guard. This guy is a large enemy, so unless you’ve been doing a lot of exploring and gaining Knowledge Points, you won’t be able to assassinate him. Despite that, though, you can assassinate Koretake and don’t even need any upgraded skills to do so, as he has two health segments. If you have the opportunity to stealth kill him, take the chance, so you’ll be done with the quest.

Should you be fighting Koretake normally, he uses a mixture of all three types of attacks, sometimes mixing them up, so you’ll have to pay close attention to the colors. As soon as he dies, a series of cutscenes will occur.

Yaya Recruitment Answer

During the scene with Mitsumune and others, you will see a prompt pop up, saying your decision will impact Yaya. To be on the safe side and making sure you recruit her as an Ally, choose Killing them isn’t justice. Some more scenes will play out, leading to the end of the mission.

The decision at the end of the quest is important to recruit Yaya.

Rewards

You will receive 2,000 XP for completing this quest, as well as the legendary kusarigama, Death Whisperer, and the Extra Damage After Colliding engraving. The Shinran Statue from the previous quest was also given to you, which can be used to decorate your Hideout. Two new quests will also unlock, Friend of My Enemy and The Stray Dogs.
