Numerous mineral samples can be scanned across Voeld, like the Platinum Sample above the Techiix Station (left) and the Lithium Sample near the western monolith (right).

You’ll start this quest by talking to Chief Lucan on the Operations level of the Nexus. There are four such deposits for you to scan on Voeld, and most of them are near other points of interest.

• The western-most deposit (hence closest to where you start off on Voeld) is just east of the first Forward Station. Just dive the Nomad off some cliffs to the east an search near some ice pillars to find an Iridium Sample . Note that you’re somewhat close to a Kett camp, which may advance (or start) the quests “Task - Catch and Release” and/or “Task - Gone Dark”.
• You can find a Platinum Sample near the Techiix Station, on the mountain into which the Angaran stronghold is built. You’ll have to drive the Nomad up the mountain’s snowy slope and drive to the eastern edge of the mountain, where you’ll find this deposit.
• An Element Zero Sample can be found in the caverns leading to the Kett base, and hence this mineral deposit can wait until you’re working on the quest “Remove the Heart”. Along the eastern edge of the map are a column of three Forward Stations. From the southern-most one drive the Nomad northwest to find a mountain path which leads west to some Kett-occupied caves. Kill the Kett inside and make your way to the south until the cave narrows. At this point turn northwest and scan the darkness to locate the Element Zero Sample you’re after.
• Search near the base of the western-most monolith (find it south of the Voeld outpost site, via an icy ravine that leads to caverns surrounding the otherwise ice-encased base of the monolith) to find a Lithium Sample . It’s alongside some glowing Remnant platforms, just northeast of the base of the monolith.
