Scanning the planet will reveal an anomaly, which turns out to be a Starship Wreckage. Search the wreckage to obtain a wide variety of salvage. All in all, you can expect this junk to sell for more than 500 Credits.
Waste not, want not - a Starship Wreckage can be scanned for salvage (left), while a volcano on Fei Xin can be scanned for XP (right).

Activate your scanner on this planet and follow it to a volcano, which you can can for some XP. Who knew crispy virgins had any experience to impart?
