Assassin’s Creed has been an RPG for a while now, the brief return to tradition that was Assassin’s Creed Mirage notwithstanding. That means numbers matter, and you know what has particularly important numbers on it? Your gear. Finding a powerful legendary weapon early will make your life a lot easier, and fortunately for all of us, such a prize awaits. This page will cover

Page Breakdown

Bloodshade Location

A fair distance west and somewhat south of the Hideout you’ll find Osaka Castle, and west of this, moored off the coast of Osaka city, is a large ship. You can just see it from the Burnt Village of Nakajima - swim over to this boxy boat and climb the side of it, but do not vault over the railing, as the ship is crawling with soldiers and unsurprisingly they won’t be keen on a soaking wet shinobi skulking onto their ship!

The legendary chest you’re looking for is in a ship moored off of the Osakan coast, (left), you can just see this ship from the beach west of the Burnt Village of Nakajima. (right)

Clear the Ship

Before you can claim your prize, you’re going to have to win it. Fortunately, the odds are heavily weighted in your favor here, mostly due to how dumb the AI is. Your foes are unwilling to go for a swim, and you can sidle along the upper edge of the ship without being detected, in most cases. Circle around the outside edge of the ship, find isolated enemies, whistle them over if you have to, then assassinate them from the edge of the boat. If you get detected, just drop off the side of the ship and into the water below, wait for the heat to die down, climb up and repeat the process until you’ve cleared as much of the deck as you can (or care to).

Once you’ve cleared the ship as much as you care to, climb over the railing and clean up any stragglers that may be remaining, then head to the western edge of the ship and note the structure in the middle of the deck that takes up most of the deck space. Once on the western edge of the ship, turn east and look up and you’ll see a window on the second story. Climb up to the window (make sure you’re sneaking!) and look through to find another, higher-level guard. He’s nothing special, but he probably refused to come down even if you were noisy, and he’s guarding the legendary chest you’re after. Jump through the window and if you’re quick you should be able to assassinate him without much fuss. Once done, loot the legendary chest he was guarding to get the legendary katana Bloodshade!

(1 of 3) You can clear most of the deck just by assassinating foes from the railing - if you get caught, just drop into the water, wait for the heat to die down, and repeat. Or just hop on deck and kill everybody.

Bloodhade Stats

Bloodshade is likely going to be statistically superior to any other weapon you’ve got access to early-game, even if a lower-rarity weapon is a few levels higher. It boasts high all-round stats, inflicts Bleed Buildup, and has the special property “Affliction Buildup is not lost over time”, making it easy for you to inflict the bleed status even if you have trouble managing a sustained offensive. It’s also reasonably cheap to [upgrade], so this weapon has some legs and can carry you through the game for the foreseeable future, making your life substantially easier in the process.
