The Tea Ceremony¶
After having learned the art of tea etiquette from Sen no Rikyu, you’ll have some minor choices to make. Read our Tea Ceremony Choice page for the correct choices. Just before the ceremony, you’ll have to talk to the women who also attended the party. Speak to Otama, Wakasa, and Lady Satoko, and make sure you choose the same name you gave Imai Sokyu, regardless of what you chose. Make sure you bow to Sokyu with a “bow halfway”, and then turn the bowl right twice. When the ceremony is finished, Naoe will mention that she needs to confront one of the two women.
(1 of 3) Before the ceremony, bow halfway.
Confront Otama¶
If you select Otama, she will run from you. Chase her through the streets and when you get close enough, leap on her and assassinate her. She isn’t the person you’re looking for, but she is still a horrible person, and on her corpse, you’ll find a letter to Wakasa. This means that Wakasa is the one you’re looking for, but due to this choice, she’s escaped to Osaka Castle, and you’ll need to defeat her there. Fortunately, you can get to her relatively easily and not worry about the castle itself as she’ll be fairly high up near the scaffolding.
(1 of 2) If you confront Otama, you’ll need to chase her down and assassinate her.
If you confront Otama, you’ll need to chase her down and assassinate her. (left), This means you’ll have to fight Wasaka at Osaka Castle instead of killing her at the ceremony. (right)
Confront Wakasa¶
Wakasa is the person you’re looking for, and by confronting her, you’ll assassinate her there, saving you the trouble of finding her at Osaka Castle later. This is the correct choice to make, but it’ll only save you some time (and Otama’s life), and you’ll most likely go to Osaka Castle at some point anyway. It’s worth noting that if you confront Wakasa, you miss out on a boss fight with Wakasa, but it’s so easy that you won’t miss much.
That’s it regarding Otama and Wakasa. Don’t feel bad taking Otama’s life as she is a horrible person anyway, which her letter to Wakasa suggests. The only real difference between the two is saving a bit of time for yourself.
