By
Jarrod Garripoli

Information about the Beamwire Tripcaster in Horizon Forbidden West, including how to obtain it, how to upgrade it, and what the strengths and weaknesses of the Beamwire Tripcaster are.

Beamwire Tripcaster Description

This novel Oseram invention uses Staggerbeams to inflict damage over time. It can be upgraded to knock down enemies with greater ease.

You can purchase this weapon from either Scalding Spear or The Maw of the Arena

Where to Get the Beamwire Tripcaster

Location Cost
Purchase from Merchant at either Scalding Spear or The Maw of the Arena 632x Metal Shards, 1x Slitherfang Circulator

You can purchase this Tripcaster at one of two locations, with one being the Scalding Spear town. There’s no prerequisites for this place, although you need to be able to explore the western portion of the map. The other location is The Maw of the Arena, but this place doesn’t open up until you finish The Kulrut. Once you make it to either place, head to the Hunter merchant to find the weapon. Other than Metal Shards, the only thing you need is a Slitherfang Circulator. This is an uncommon drop from Slitherfangs and they don’t start spawning in the wild until you’ve finished The Kulrut.

How to Use the Beamwire Tripcaster

The Beamwire Tripcaster has two types of ammo, the Staggerbeams and the Fire Tripwires. Like with most Tripcasters, they are best used when the enemy is unaware of your location, as they can be setting up ambushes. The Fire Tripwires is something that should only be used on machines either neutral or weak to Fire, as it will likely to put them into the Burning state. For Staggerbeams, you can set them up to potentially stagger/knock down a machine, with the beams also damaging them over time, as long as they are still within the laser.
