How to Use Kue’s Sharpshot Bow¶
Kue’s Sharpshot Bow is an oddity - it has the stopping power of a low-tier Sharpshot Bow, but the draw speed and focus on Tear damage over Impact damage that you usually find on Hunter Bows. The descriptive text claims the bow is “best used at shorter range”, but Kue’s Sharpshot Bow exhibits no lack of long-ranged functionality, and once fully-upgraded it constitutes a significant upgrade over the standard Sharpshot Bow.
While Kue’s Sharpshot Bow is a fine early-game upgrade, it has one major problem: location. By the time your make your way up to Riverhymn, you’ll have passed by Plainsong, where a Hunter will sell you the [Hardweave Sharpshot Bow] and the Slicing Hunter Bow. The former is a better conventional Sharpshot Bow due to its higher Impact damage and perks, while the latter deals vastly more Tear damage due to its Advanced Hunter Arrows. This makes it difficult to recommend investing too much into Kue’s Sharpshot Bow when better alteratives will be available before you can even gets your hands on this weapon.
You should also factor in the fact that Precision Arrows are more expensive to craft than Hunter Arrows, and however Kue’s Sharpshot Bow may emulate a Hunter Bow, it still fires Precision Arrows. It also will use Sharpshot Bow Weapon Techniques, which may be a good or bad thing, depending on your build. You won’t be using Triple Notch with this bow, but that seems like a fair trade for Braced Shot.
Unusually for an Uncommon weapon, Kue’s Sharpshot Bow has a perk, unlocking Critical Hit Chance +5% at Rank II. It also has the standard Coil Slot, which unlocks at Rank III.
