Horizon Forbidden West

Knockdown Sharpshot Bow (Uncommon)

By
Nathan Garvin

Information about the Knockdown Sharpshot Bow in Horizon Forbidden West, including how to obtain it, how to upgrade it, and what the strengths and weaknesses of the Knockdown Sharpshot Bow are.

Knockdown Bow Description

“This long-range Utaru bow specializes in firing arrows that have high knockdown power and deal a low amount of damage.”

You can buy the Knockdown Sharpshot Bow from the Hunter at Barren Light.

How to Get the Knockdown Sharpshot Bow

Location Cost
Barren Light, Hunter 149x Metal Shards, 1x Burrower Circulator

You can buy this weapon from the Hunter in Barren Light. You must complete the main quest [To the Brink] before any merchants will do business with you.

You must also trade a Burrower Circulator, which is a Common drop from any Burrower. Kill enough and you’ll get one - likely sooner rather than later.

How to Use the Knockdown Sharpshot Bow

The Knockdown Sharpshot Bow is a very minor upgrade to the base Sharpshot Bow, having a tiny statistical advantage over the aforemention bow. This alone wouldn’t be enough to warrant an upgrade (although buying the Knockdown Sharpshot Bow instead isn’t a bad idea), but the Knockdown Sharpshot Bow additionally has access to Knockdown Precision Arrows. These arrows deal greatly reduced damage and are relatively expensive to craft (compared to normal Precision Arrows, anyways), but they live up to their name, having a high chance of knocking enemies down. You’ll have to aim for unarmored body shots to do this reliably, and whether it’s worth the bother and expense instead of just using Silent Strikes is an open question.

The Knockdown Sharpshot Bow has a perk - somewhat unusual for Uncommmon weapons - dealing +10% Knockdown damage to prone foes. It is unlocked at Rank II.

Like most Uncommon weapons, the Knockdown Sharpshot Bow will unlock a Coil Slot at Rank III.
