Horizon Forbidden West

Bellowblast Spike Thrower (Rare)

By
Staci Miller

The Bellowblast Spike Thrower is part of the Spike Thrower archetype. Spike Throwers are simply spikes thrown that explode a few seconds after landing. While their execution can be very slow, they hit hard when they land, so they can be great in some situations.

The Bellowblast is one of the earliest accessible Spike Throwers in the game.

This is considered an Uncommon weapon.

Description

A sturdy Oseram weapon that can launch Impact and Explosive Spikes. It can be upgraded to improve its rate of fire. Spikes must be thrown at full draw in order to penetrate armor.

Where to get the Bellowblast Spike Thrower

This weapon can be bought from Hunter merchants in The Bulwark and Stone Crest. You’ll be taken to Stone Crest during the main quest The Broken Sky and will automatically come across one of these Hunters, so take the time to pick it up.

A main quest takes you straight to Stone Crest, and the Hunter is just ahead.

It costs Metal Shards x467 and 1x Elemental Clawstrider Circulator.

Best Use

Spike Throwers are best used for slow machines that you want to get rid of quickly. Although the damage they can deal is shockingly mighty, it takes quite a while to load them up and quick machines may get the better of you in that time.

They’re also great to use from some cover or a slight distance, where even the fastest machines might take a second to get to you. This is especially true of the Explosive damage that this particular Spike Thrower can deal.
