How to Use the Hunter Bow

The Hunter Bow is Aloy’s starting weapon, and it’s not just a generic example of the entire class of Hunter Bows, it’s arguably the game’s default weapon. With middling firing speed, this midrange weapon deals a small amount of Impact damage and a moderate amount of Tear damage, making it somewhat useful for removing components and little else. While a servicable enough weapon, its low stats ensure you’ll outgrow it fairly soon.

Perhaps the only interesting feature of this bow is that it unlock Acid Hunter Arrows at Rank II. These will allow you to deal Acid damage and inflict the Corrode debuff, although as is to be expected for this weapon, the damage output and elemental buildup are both woefully low.

Like most Uncommon weapons, it will unlock a Coil Slot at Rank III.

  • Hunter Arrows: Your standard ammuntion for the Hunter Bow. Deals low Impact damage and moderate Tear damage. Good for hunting animals and removing components, but lacks the punch required to bring down heavier machines.

  • Acid Hunter Arrows: Your generic Acid Arrow, it deals light Acid damage and inflicts moderate Acid Buildup.
