The Ali Baba investigation can be started by reading a letter at the Harbiyah Bureau, located in the Shari district in northern Baghdad. The letter consists of a request for help from Ali Baba’s daughter, Murjana, who is worried about the fate of her father after he met with some thieves to secure a deal. On this page, we’ll show you where to find Murjana, and how to help her in uncovering what happened to Ali Baba, one of the most famous merchants in Baghdad.

A Dance With Thieves - Read the Letter at the Harbiyah Bureau¶
As stated above, to begin this investigation you’ll need to read a letter that can be found on a table in the Harbiyah Bureau. If you’re unable to find this initially, just check the investigations menu and select the “Pick up the letter” objective to highlight exactly where it is. Upon reading it you’ll discover that Murjana was forwarded to the Hidden Ones by Beshi, one of the rebel leaders you’ve already worked with against the Order of the Ancients.
Where to Find Murjana in Baghdad¶
To find Murjana, travel to the southernmost point of the city of Baghdad, where the South City Gates are located, as shown in the screenshot below. Once there, use your bird to scout the precise location of Murjana, who can be found just outside the gates. When you approach Murjana, a cutscene will begin, during which you see her admonishing a fellow merchant. After the brief exchange, you need to follow Murjana to a nearby horse, then ride southwest through the desert until you reach the Forty Thieves Hideout

Assassinate the Thieves at the Forty Thieves Hideout¶
As you approach the hideout, you’ll notice a dead horse that Murjana examines. She soon confirms that it’s her father’s horse, Tuffaha, sending her into a rage as she believes that her father is now in great danger. Follow her to the outskirts of the hideout, and wait for your cue to move in and assassinate the thieves. There are eight thieves here in total, with plenty of foliage and rocks to shroud your approach. Take them out in whatever way you prefer, then speak with Murjana to complete this part of the mission chain.
