There are a ton of side activities in Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, one of which is contracts. These are short missions that send you to use your stealth abilities to complete missions for clients. The Botanist is a tricky mission as you must navigate a large botanical garden without being detected if you want the extra rewards. You also need to locate the botanist and steal his list, along with finding three pots that won’t spew out poison at you. The guide below goes over how to complete The Botanist without alerting the guards, where to get the botanist’s list, and how to find all three medicine jars.
You can pick up The Botanist contract from the contract board at the bureau during the early game.
When Does The Botanist Contract Become Available?¶
The Botanist will become available after you complete the Zeroing In. It’s part of the early main quest. Once this is done, head to the Bureau. You will see the contract’s board on the wall. Once you access it, you will be able to choose from five different contracts, one of them being The Botanist. After it’s been claimed from the board, go into your menu and track the quest using the contract section.
How to Find The Botanist’s List at the Pharmacy of Haylanah¶
The Botanist takes you to the Pharmacy of Haylanah, a location in the southern part of the city. For this quest, the client’s tasks you with not being detected if you want the bonus rewards. This is pretty difficult at first, as you need to get a feel for the botanical gardens. The Pharmacy of Haylanah is a restricted zone, and guards are walking everywhere. There is no way to complete the quest without performing several crafty assassinations. We suggest you enter from above the main pharmacy. From here, you can safely assassinate some of the lookouts.
Once this is done, find an opening and sneak into the flower beds. Your goal here is first to steal the Botanist’s list and then start assassinating the guards that are in your way. The Botanist stays on the northwestern side of the garden. Use the flower beds as cover to steal his purse and get the list. This will reveal that you need to find vases marked with an X. There are three of these; be careful, as opening other vases can release poison gas.
The first vase you will want to go for is on the northwest side near the botanist. Two guards like to stop and chat here. You will want to draw them to the flower beds and assassinate them one at a time. Make sure you are angled to pull them into the flower bed and do this so that you don’t alert the guards with a dead body. Once the path is clear, grab the first pot. You will now want to go to the middle of the garden. This section has a large guard. Use the whistle method to draw him to the nearby flower bed and take him out. A few other guards are standing around, including one up some short steps looking out over the garden. Assassinate them to be safe, and grab the jar.

You will now want to make your way into the pharmacy. As usual, kill any guards that could be in your path. The last jar is on the second floor in between two guards. If you have the Chain Assassination ability, this will be easy, as you can just sneak up behind them. If not, then you will need to use knives or blow darts to quickly take them out. Once you have all three medicine samples, follow the marker to a bush outside of the pharmacy and leave the samples there. You will now receive your rewards.
The Botanist Rewards¶
For completing The Botanist contract, you will receive 45 Components, two Scholar Favor Tokens, and the Rostam Dagger Schematic. If you manage to complete the mission without alerting any guards, then you will also get 65 Dirhams and two more Scholar Favor Tokens. This will complete The Botanist contract.
