The Carolingian Coin Heist contract takes you to another location that is off-limits to Basim. This time, you will infiltrate a Monastery in Karkh to steal a valuable coin. This mission is lined with frustration as it’s not made very obvious where the coin is hidden at first. On top of this, your bonus objective is to go unnoticed in a sea of guards. The guide below goes over where to find the Carolingian Coin and how to complete the contract without being seen.

When Does The Carolingian Coin Heist Contract Become Available?¶
The Carolingian Coin Heist is part of a multi-part contract series that focuses on stealing and delivering items for Dervis. Once you complete The Boat Heist, this contract should appear on the contract board at the bureau. When you are ready to steal some coin, grab the contract off of the board and use the contract section of your menu to begin tracking it.
Where to Find The Carolingian Coin at the Monastery¶
Head to the Monastery of the Virgins. It’s in a southwest corner of Karkh that is easy to miss. Once you get close to the Monastery, the restricted area indicator will appear. Your mission is to get in, steal the Carolingian Coin, and if you want bonus rewards, do it without being seen. This task is actually pretty easy once you figure out the placement of the guards. Once you get near the Monastery, go ahead and use your falcon to scout out the hidden room inside. The yellow markers will direct your interest towards it, so you can’t miss it.
Once you have the secret path in sight, go ahead and climb up the Monastery walls. You will notice a couple of guards walking around up top. These are your first targets to assassinate. There’s a wardrobe that you can hide in and whistle from to help you take out the first guard without the second one noticing. As soon as you finish this first guard, take the second out. Once you’ve dealt with them, move down into the courtyard. Here, you will find plenty of flowers and a hay pile. You will want to use these to slowly pick off every guard around the yard.
Once you do, use your Eagle Vision, you should see some pots near the middle of the courtyard. Go pick one up and carry it with you down into the secret entrance. Once you make your way down the hallway, you will be greeted by a room with a shut stone door. Take the jar you are holding and place it on the raised stone slab on either side of Basim. Once it’s placed, use your Eagle Vision again. You will spot another pot in the room, pick it up, and place it on the other stone slat. This will cause the stone door to fully raise.

Go through the door and use the wooden switch to keep the door raised. The passage ahead is dark, so use Eagle Vision to find your way to the Carolingian Coin. It’s sitting on a table down a hallway with tons of treasure sprawled out on the floor. Once you grab it, make your way back out of the Monastery of the Virgins without drawing the attention of any rogue guards wandering the outside perimeter of the area. You will now head north to a small gazebo across the nearby river. Inside of it is a basket to place the Carolingian Coin.
The Carolingian Coin Heist Rewards¶
Completing The Carolingian Coin Heist will get you 45 components, 115 leather, and two Scholar Favor tokens. If you managed to snag the coin without being detected, then you will get a bonus reward of 65 Dirhams and another two Scholar Favor tokens. Once your rewards show up, the contract will wrap up.
