Assassin's Creed Mirage

How to Upgrade Weapons and Outfits in Assassin's Creed Mirage

By
Jarrod Garripoli

While Assassin’s Creed Mirage isn’t the same style of game as previous entries, like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, it will still have various pieces of equipment that Basim can wear. These weapons and outfits will grant you various passive abilities that help you in your adventure, which you can strengthen by upgrading. This page will talk about how to upgrade those pieces of equipment, as it isn’t exactly clear what to do in the game.

You will be able to upgrade the various pieces of equipment to improve stats and abilities.

Where to Upgrade Equipment in Assassin’s Creed Mirage

After the prologue, you will finally arrive in Baghdad and be able to explore at your leisure. You will start with an outfit, as well as a sword and dagger, which will be your main weapons during the game. The dagger is used for parrying, while the sword is used for attacking in direct combat. The outfit doesn’t do anything like providing defense for Basim, but it will provide a passive buff. Whenever you go into your inventory and look at your inventory, you will notice different tiers on them, indicating that you can upgrade them.

However, the game doesn’t really tell you how to do this. There are two different types of NPCs in the game that offer upgrading services, the Blacksmith and the Tailor. To upgrade your equipment, though, you will need resources. You will find these in chests scattered around the map, although you will need to be careful opening them in front of guards, as it is an illegal action. You will also receive some resources for completing Contracts when those open up to you. Head on over to one of the two NPCs listed above to go and upgrade some equipment!

Oh wait, you will attempt to upgrade your equipment, but it seems you’re still missing something, as you won’t be able to do that just yet. That’s because you need Upgrade Schematics in order to actually, well, upgrade your equipment. While you might receive some during the course of the main story, the majority of these are found in the Gear Chests throughout the areas. These special chests are counted as part of each area’s collectibles and contain more weapons and outfits, in addition to the schematics.

There’s a slight catch, though, as the Gear Chests operate in a special manner. Instead of the items inside being set in stone, they all follow a pattern. The first Gear Chest in a given section will always yield either a weapon or outfit, while the other two will always give upgrade schematics. You will be able to upgrade most equipment two times, so you will actually need to open all of the Gear Chests to do that.

There is no incentive, though, to fully max all of your weapons and outfits, other than just to say you did. You will need all of the Gear Chests for the Explorer trophy/achievement, and you receive an additional two trophies/achievements for fully upgrading a single weapon and outfit. Note that any DLC weapons and outfits can be fully upgraded from the start since the game won’t contain any Gear Chests for those.
