The Great Bimaristan is a place of healing in the Abbasiyah region, in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. You will head here during the Ahmad ibn Musa Investigation, but there’s another reason to come here, which is for the Gear Chest. As with a good number of the Gear Chests in the game, it can be a little confusing on how to get to it.
This chest will yield the Zanj Uprising Dagger, or one of its upgrade schematics.
How to Get the Gear Chest in The Great Bimaristan - AC Mirage¶
The Great Bimaristan is located in the Abbasiyah region, in the southwestern corner of it. It’s a fairly large building that you can enter freely, but the upper areas are restricted, so you will need to be careful. Of course, the Gear Chest that can be found here is in those upper sections, meaning you’ll need to be mindful of the enemies scouting around those areas. You actually might not need to worry about fighting any enemies, though, as the chest is kind of isolated.
You will be starting on the eastern side of the building, where you will see an overhanging tent. Climb one of the wooden pillars holding up that overhang, onto the fabric itself. From here, you will be able to scale the wall, up to the restricted area, but make sure you don’t run into any enemies up here. You could move towards the south while climbing the wall, as that should put you out of sight. Once you’re in the restricted area, use your Eagle Vision to spot some lattice on a window (it’ll glow red).
You can break this, but it doesn’t lead to the Gear Chest. If you want, hop through that window after breaking the lattice. Jump to the chandelier, then to the other open window that leads to a room with a resources chest. Return outside via the way you came in, then climb to the very top of the building. Go around the side here, looking for a window that has some gaps in it. Although it’s hard to see, you can hit the lock on the door on the other side, through the window.
Make sure you use Eagle Vision to highlight the lock on the door, then aim your Throwing Knife at it. When you see the targeting reticule change, toss the knife and you will now be able to enter the room. Note that you could also stand on the railing by the window to get a better shot at it. One final thing to do is move the shelf out of the way to gain access to the Gear Chest. Open it up for either the Zanj Uprising Dagger or one of its Upgrade Schematics.
