Monster Hunter Rise

How to Use the Great Sword

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

The Great Sword is a large and heavy melee weapon that deals cut and blunt damage. The Great Sword has a steeper learning curve compared to some other weapons because of its slower attacks and limited mobility. However, mastering the Great Sword means you’ll have the highest damage per hit of all weapons and powerful charge attacks. You’re also able to block attacks quickly.

The Great Sword can deal huge amounts of damage but is quite slow and heavy so make sure you’re accurate with your hits.

Basic Great Sword Controls

Below you’ll find the basic controls for the Great Sword. Once you’ve gotten to grasp with basic controls, you’ll be able to use them in different orders to pull off various combos.

Silkbind Controls

Silkbind attacks use up a wirebug and then have a longer cooldown than wirebug moves, meaning you’ll want to make sure to time your silkbind attacks well so that you don’t waste the wirebug.
