Monster Hunter Rise

Great Wirebugs/Jewel Lilies

By
Vincent Lau

This page will help you find all the Great Wirebugs and Jewel Lilies in the Lava Caverns.

What are Great Wirebugs/Jewel Lilies?

Great Wirebugs are bigger versions of wirebugs that can be used to create permanent shortcuts. To use them, you must find a suitable Jewel Lily spot, then place a Great Wirebug from your inventory. You can receive Great Wirebugs from Senior Hunter Hanenaga in Kamura Village. There are also a small number of Great Wirebugs that are already there on the map (usually in mid-air).

Overview

(1 of 2) Great wirebug locations and routes above ground.

The Lava Caverns has the least amount of great wirebug spots, at five. Four of them are positioned near the edge of the giant lava flow near the center of the map–two on each side, one pair positioned further north and the other pair further south. You can use these to quickly jump between the east and west halves of the map.

Instead of great wirebugs, you can use Upwelling Wind to travel from the underground section back to the surface. There are six of these, located near places where you can fall down from the surface. If you accidentally fall down, check the map and there’s probably an Upwelling Wind not too far away.

Area 7

Location: North-east corner of Area 7.

The first jewel lily we’ll discuss is found near the north-east corner of Area 7, by the giant lava flow. You can reach here by traveling east from Sub-Camp 2 and wiredashing across the gap. Using it will send you across the lava flow, towards the northern part of Area 10, not far from Sub-Camp 1.

Area 9

Location: Near the center of Area 9.

A similar jewel lily is located near the center of Area 9. This one will also launch you across the giant lava flow, placing you in the southern part of Area 10.

Area 10

Location: Area 10, towards the north, a short distance south from the hole in the ground near Sub-Camp 1.

There are two jewel lilies located here. One is found in the northern part of Area 10, a short distance south from the hole in the ground near Sub-Camp 1. It’ll propel you west towards the great wirebug spot in Area 7.

Location: Area 10, towards the south, north of another big hole in the ground.

Likewise, there’s a second jewel lily in the southern part of Area 10, north of another big hole in the ground. This one will fire you west near the great wirebug spot in Area 9.

Area 10/12

(1 of 2) Start: Bottom of the entrance to the underground in Area 12.

Start: Bottom of the entrance to the underground in Area 12. (left), Destination: Top of the entrance to the underground in Area 12. (right)

Lastly, there’s a jewel lily at the bottom of the entrance to the underground in Area 12. You can reach here by coming from Area 12 or by traveling east from the underground portion of Area 10. If you use a great wirebug here, you’ll fly up to the beginning of the Area 12 entrance, saving you from climbing up a bunch of vine-covered walls.
