How to Complete Endemic Life: Rock Lizard¶
This side quest is given to you by Senior Hunter Hanenaga, who can be found near the bridge to the Buddy Plaza.
You’re tasked with capturing a photo of a Rock Lizard. Rock Lizards can be found in most areas, however, if you’ve taken this quest early on in your hunting career, then you’ll likely only have Shrine Ruins available.
Rock Lizards are pretty elusive creatures and can typically be found in high places. They are purple and covered in gem stones. In Shrine Ruins, there are four possible spawn points, above Area 7, and near Areas 9, 10 and 11. There is no guarantee that a Lizard will be at each of the potential spawn points so you’ll either have to check all the spawns or leave and return to Shrine Ruins to trigger a different spawn.
The spawn above Area 7 is easy as it’ll just be near the exterior rocky wall of the map, but then the other three locations will require that you use your Wirebugs to reach high up cliff edges. The next easiest spawn point to reach is the one near Area 9, which can be reached easily from the path by using your wirebugs. If you need a refresher on how to use wirebugs, head over to Wirebug Moves and Controls for a quick breakdown.
Once you have found yourself a Rock Lizard, use your camera to take a photo. You’ll then be able to return to Senior Hunter Hanenaga to complete the request and earn yourself 8 Great Wirebugs.
