Picking up the Pieces

You start off in the Village, so head north to the Ridge. The Mysterious Man battles Sora with the Rapid Thrusters overhead. The battle is pretty simple and it’s implied that Riku is the Mysterious Man, wielding the Soul Eater. Before anyone can think of what to do next, a huge Heartless emerges and heads towards the city. On the Mountain Trail you can use High Jump Lv2 and Aerial Dodge to collect the final piece to a puzzle, Edge #8 . On your way into the Checkpoint you should note that it’s possible to face a Bulky Vendor.

Monster - Bulky Vendor

Bulky Vendors are some of the most interesting enemies in the game and they appear in the Checkpoint in Land of Dragons, Bazaar of Agrabah, the Candy Cane Lane in Halloween Town, the West Hall of Beast’s Castle, and the Cave of the Dead: Entrance in the Olympus Coliseum. Destroy some of the scenery in these areas or shift into a Drive Form and the enemy may emerge. It runs around slowly losing its HP but you can use the Reaction Command “Vendor” at any time. Drops are based on its HP when you use “Vendor” - Capsule Prize (100-75%): Bright Shard (100%), Orichalcum (8%) Rare Capsule (74-50%): Bright Stone (100%), Orichalcum (10%). Limited Capsule (49-25%): Bright Gem (100%), Orichalcum (12%). Prime Capsule (24-1%): Bright Crystal (100%), Orichalcum (16%).

Monster - Sniper

There are some hidden away Puzzle Pieces here which you can reach now.

Snipers are minions of Xigbar and thus move the same way. They teleport around and fire high damage shots. It’s best to use the Reaction Command “Warp Snipe” to counter and damage the Sniper.

Continue to the Imperial Square where you’ll have a forced battle against some Bolt Towers and Assault Riders. After a scene you’ll find the Mysterious Man, but not quite. In fact it’s Xigbar who leaves some Snipers for you to fight. Grab the puzzle piece on the west side, Dawn #9 , then empty the eight chests: - Torn Pages (14/21), Palace Map (15/21), AP Boost (16/21), Queen Recipe (17/21), AP Boost (18/21), Ogre Shield (19/21), Mythril Crystal (20/21), and an Orichalcum (21/21). Head back to the Palace Gates for the boss fight.

BOSS - Storm Rider

You start on the Storm Rider’s back, riding high into the air. There are two horns on the wings that can be destroyed or the horns on the head that directly effect the boss’s HP. If you break both horns on the wings then it will force the Storm Rider to the ground and leave it stunned for a bit. Storm Rider will do a flip, though you can choose to “Hang On” to stay on top. Should you fall there’s always the whirlwinds on the ground to soar back up and start the assault again.

Storm Rider uses a Dive attack that prompts the Reaction Command “Slide” then “Vertigo Toss” that will stun it, be sure to capitalize. In addition it uses Thunder Wings, shooting bolts of lightning out that should be Guarded or Reflected. Also Carpet Bombs where Storm Rider flies across the field dropping bombs, be sure fly into the air to avoid this. Lastly, the Storm Rider uses Thundaga Cannon where it sets up walls of electricity and fires a massive lightning attack; this is dodged by getting close to the wings of the Storm Rider.

Rewards : Thunder Element (Sora), HP +4 (Donald), Tornado Fusion (Goofy), HP +25 (Mulan)

Damage the horns on Storm Rider’s head (left) to whittle away the HP. Watch out for Thunder Wings (right) and make sure to guard against it.

With the battle over, you can head to the next world, or visit Pooh again! You can also return to the Village now and obtain Dawn #8 .

Kingdom Hearts II begins where Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days leave off. Sora and his companions have been asleep for about a year, regaining their memories. When Sora awakens, he eventually arrives in Twilight Town, the place where a mysterious boy, Roxas, lived before he suddenly left. Gaining new clothes and powers, Sora began his journey anew, unaware of the events that have taken place in Chain of Memories. Sora continues his quest by unlocking paths to new worlds, learning of Nobodies and fighting the Heartless, as well as facing the remaining members of the mysterious Organization XIII. As the game progresses, Sora learns about Roxas and how much they have in common.

Birth By Sleep is the origins of the series’ hero and villain, Sora and Xehanort, and delves deep into the mysteries of Xehanort’s bleak past and forgotten memories as well as how Sora and Riku came to wield the Keyblade in the first place. It deals with three Keyblade Wielders: Terra, Aqua and Ventus and each character has their own scenario.
