The second stratum is the shortest of the four.

With a new stratum, comes a new change of scenery and the second stratum is by far the shortest of the four. Follow this path around and you’ll run into the Mafioso, who will suddenly change into demons. This is nothing more than a simple battle, but don’t forget to scan one of them before you defeat them.

Once you regain control, head into the next corridor and you’ll come across a door with three red lights. The goal for this stratum is to find three terminals that will unlock the door. Begin your search by heading down the stairs to the west and entering the first door to find Information Terminal 01. Be sure to view the information to get more background information on the cult and then choose to release the lock.

Leave this room and head into the other room to the west where you’ll find a chest containing an Evergreen, be sure to equip this on Lloyd or Randy if they don’t already have one. Continue through to the next corridor and go through the broken gate to the east and out the door. You’ll find a monster chest here containing some Harmonia Boots which should be inferior to the ultimate ones you should already be wearing.

While you’re in this room, check Information Terminal 02 and release the second lock. return to the previous room and take the southern exit into another corridor. Follow this corridor and go into the first room to the west to find a chest housing a Curia Balm, then exit through the hole to the north.

Go north in this next corridor for a chest with a Tearal Balm, then return to the intersection and go east to reach another corridor. Head west here to find another monster chest, this one contains the Defender, Lloyd’s best weapon if you didn’t get his ultimate back at the IBC. Once you pocket this, head east and up the stairs to exit this corridor.

Open the nearby chest to obtain an EP Charge II, then take the northern door to find Information Terminal 03 where you can release the final lock. Grab the chest to the left of the terminal to obtain a Celestial Balm and leave the room to the north. You’ll find yourself back at the corridor where you fought the Mafioso so head north to the next corridor and through the now opened door. Take the stairs down to the bottom to reach the third stratum.
