How to Start Overdue Book Retrieval¶

Overdue Book Retrieval is a request in The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero, which you can pick up on Chapter 1 Day 1. To start this quest you just need to sit through all the chatter at the start of the day, and when you finally gain control of your characters, investigate the computer in the SSS HQ to accept this request.

Once you’ve got the details from the computer, make your way to the Administrative District, enter The City Library and talk to the librarian, Miles, who is your client for this job.

How to Complete Overdue Book Retrieval¶

Once Miles remembers that he did, indeed, file a request for the SSS, he’ll get down to business: Some delinquents are tardy with the books they checked out, and since Crossbell apparently doesn’t have a mail service (seriously, have you seen a post office around town?) the only recourse for the library is to pay law enforcement to investigate the matter. Hardly seems like a functional system…

Anyways, your targets are:

• Clarice: Head over to Acacia Apartments on East Street (the building near the exits to the Central Square and Harbor District) and once inside take a right to reach Clarice’s apartment. Talk to her and the sight of so many battle-hardened cops will jog her memory, and you’ll recover the book Mark and the Witch - Part 1.

• Fay: You’ll find Fay in the Bellheim Apartments on West Street, when you enter the apartments head downstairs and go through the first door on the left. Talk to Pansy - the blue-haired girl near the bookshelf - and she’ll incriminate her father before handing over the boring book - Train Fanatic Recs - he abandoned.

• Raymond: An inside job! A fellow member of the CPD has absconded with one of the books. You’ll find him CPD HQ in the Administrative District, wasting taxpayer money by standing idly in front of the vending machines to the left of the reception area. Talk to him and try not to wallow in disgust when he reveals his scandalous excuse for checking out the book, Women Who Changed the World, which you’ll thankfully rescue.

Once you have all three books return to Miles and hand them over to complete the request.
