Walkthrough for the request “Serial Theft Investigation” in Chapter 3, Day 3 in The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero.

How to Start Serial Theft Investigation¶

Serial Theft Investigation is a request in The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero, which you can pick up on Chapter 3 Day 3. To start this quest you just need to sit through all the chatter at the start of the day, and when you finally gain control of your characters, investigate the computer in the SSS HQ to accept this request.

How to Complete Serial Theft Investigation¶

Once you’ve accepted the request, head to the Harbor District and seek out two men standing near a kiosk along the southwestern edge of the district (near the exit to East Street). Talk to them and they - Chairman Mors and and a BOA Clerk - will discuss the thefts with you.

When you finish your chat, your goal is simple - talk to the victims to learn what you can about the theft. To earn a bonus +1 Detective Point, however, you’ll need to talk to all the food vendors in the Harbor District, Administrative District, Entertainment District and Central Square. They all have mobile food carts, so they shouldn’t be hard to spot.

Harbor District Vendors¶

There are three vendors in the Harbor District:

• Yaqi: Along the eastern edge of the district, near the stairs to the pier.

• Mithra: Outside the Heiyue Trading, Ltd - Crossbell Branch building.

• Ozelle: Near the stairs leading up to the Crossbell News Service building.

Talk to them all, then exit via the western area transition to reach the Administrative District.

Administrative District¶

There are only two vendors in the Administrative District:

• Derek: Northwest of the fountain in the center of the district.

• Chroma: Northeast of the fountain in the center of the district.

After learning what you can from both vendors, exit to the west again, this time reaching the Entertainment District.

Entertainment District¶

Just like last time, there are only two vendors in the Entertainment District:

• Sophie: You’ll find Sophie manning her stall near the Arc en Ciel building.

• Lime: Lime and his stall can be found across the plaza to the south of Sophie’s stall, just opposite the Arc en Ciel building.

Glean info from those two vendors, then exit to the southeast and pass through the Back Alley to reach the Central Square.

Central Square¶

There are three food vendors in Central Square, bringing the total up to ten:

• Mazie: Her stall is set up between the Times Department Store and the exit to the Back Alley, along the northwestern end of the district.

• Arona: Arona has set up shop next to the bell in the middle of the square.

• Nardol: You’ll find this food stall set up outside of the Genten building.

Finish talking to all the vendors and after a bit of group chatter, head back to the Harbor District and talk to Chairman Mors, where you’ll piece together the information you uncovered. This involves you having to select some deductions:

• “Striking while they were distracted.”

• “For their enjoyment.”

• “A youthful duo.”

Pick these three deductions and you’ll gain +2 Detective Points.

After a bit more chatter you’ll have to guess what the next target will be:

• “Central Square’s sweets stall.”

Figuring this out will earn you another +2 Detective Points.

Once you’ve made your choices, watch the following scenes and the quest will end.

Before you move on, however, you can visit the various stalls terrorized by the thieves to gain some tasty rewards (just visit the stalls that were victimzed and talk to their proprietors):

Justice never tasted so good! You’ll also gain your normal request rewards when you visit the SSS HQ terminal, of course.
