West Crossbell Highway Monster Extermination

Walkthrough for West Crossbell Highway Monster Extermination request on Chapter 2 Day 1 in The Legend of Heroes: Trails From Zero.

West Crossbell Highway Monster Extermination is a request on Chapter 2 Day 1.

How to Start West Crossbell Highway Monster Extermination

West Crossbell Highway Monster Extermination is a request that you can begin by examining the computer in the SSS HQ at the start of Chapter 2. Unlike the other Monster Extermination Request of this Chapter, this one is entirely optional so it’s a good idea to focus on clearing it earlier in the day. As with most Monster Extermination Requests, there’s no client that you’ll need to speak to first before you can fight the target so once you have it from the computer, it’s time to set out for the West Crossbell Highway.

(1 of 2) You will need to head to the fourth area in the highway

If you’re exploring the West Crossbell Highway, you can’t miss this, as the Nepenthes G will block the intersection on the fourth screen. Be sure to save your game before the battle and take heed of the notes on the Request description: If you attack them simultaneously, they will retaliate fiercely. Try to take them out one by one. Of course, remember that you’ll need to scan at least one of the Nepenthes Gs.

Once you begin the battle, you will notice that there are in fact three of them to deal with and taking the advice at hand, you’ll want to avoid any attacks that hit more than one at a time. Thankfully, Lloyd’s S-Break is a powerful single target attack, and you should use it to focus your attacks on the middle Nepenthes, if you’re fortunate, it should Seal the monster leaving you to only deal with the other two. If Tio or Elie has powerful Fire Arts available to them, use them against the Nepenthes as it will hit hard.

(1 of 5) Start the battle with Lloyd’s S-Break on the central Nepenthes if possible

The Nepenthes has two main attacks for you to worry about, Pollen, which is a single target attack that hits for around 230 HP with the latest armor equipped and also has a chance to inflict Blind. The other attack, Earth-Shaker, is the main threat here, and they will use it when you attack them. This will cause an earthquake that hits the entire party for around 350-400 HP, this is the reason why you only want to attack one Nepenthes at a time.

Thankfully, Elie’s Holy Bullet is great for group healing and will also bestow some CP upon whoever is healed, make good use of it throughout the battle. Once you take the middle Nepenthes out of the equation, the other two are far enough apart that you can make use of both Randy and Tio’s S-Breaks, Burn is especially potent should you get it to land. Once the battle is over, you can return to the computer at the SSS HQ at any time to report the Request.
