The Force Loaders on either side of the Behemoth’s face make excellent targets that deal respectible damage (left), but be wary, as the Behemoth is capable of responding with ranged attacks of its own (right).

Behold Behemoth

Okay, time to get back on track now. Fast travel back to the Shattered Kiln Bandit Camp and exit via the northwestern gate, following the road northwest past a fork until you reach a Campfire. Your destination lies to the north, but there’s a machine worth checking out to the west - the Behemoth. Basically a massive pig-shaped machine, it’s the only other example of a transport-type machine besides the Shell-Walker.

They’re large machines, and dangerous, as they are prone to charging. Most of their attacks involve their massive heads, in fact, as they’re also fond of slamming their head into the ground and releasing a force wave area-of-effect attack. As far as ranged attacks go, they can launch a single large boulder at you, or they can stick their head into the ground and shoot a stream of smaller rocks at you.

Freeze Arrows aren’t as effective against the Behemoth as they are against other big machines (left), but the damage boost is still welcome, especially if a Freeze Canister is struck (right).

As far as damaging them goes, the Force Loader cylinders on either side of their head are obvious targets, as they’re pretty easy to hit, disable the machine’s “lifting” attacks, and deal good damage once detached. Other than that you can aim at the clamps securing the Crate Holder, which will allow you to score extra loot. Freeze Canisters and Power Cells on their rear and back, respectively, are also fine targets, although the former are arguably easier to hit, and the Behemoth is strong against Shock damage. If you can destroy a Freeze Canister, you’ll freeze the Behemoth and deal extra damage, and while it’s a better elemental weakness to try and exploit than Shock, the overall effectiveness of freezing them is nowhere near as appealing against the Behemoth as it is against Thunderjaws and Rockbreakers.

Search the supply cache left for you by your mysterious Focus-friend (left) then loot a pile of Ancient Debris to score the Ancient Vessel - Metallurgic (right).

The Anonymous Stash

Once you’re done messing with the Behemoth, head north, then north, northeast from the Campfire, across several bridges and past a Charger Site. Follow the road as it turns east but be wary, as Cultists may be prowling around this road around here. Continue east until you reach a Campfire, from which your ultimate destination is north, but there are collectibles to the northeast and south of the Campfire. More immediately, however, is a stash of goodies left for you by the anonymous voice infesting your Focus, which undoubtedly contacted you at some point during your trip towards Maker’s End. To find this stash, head southwest of the Campfire to find a Supply Crate, which contains numerous resources and a Ropecaster.

Ancient Vessel - Metallurgic

The first collectible you can find is quite easy to get, just return to the Campfire and head north to find a pile of Ancient Debris in the shadow of some ruins. Search it and loot the Ancient Vessel - Metallurgic . Easy-peasy.

Shoot the Ravager Cannon off the back of the Ravager (left) then use the captured weapon against the corrupted machines (right).

Corrupted Zone

Next stop, head uphill to the east from the Campfire to discover a Corrupted Zone. Three formidable machines patrol here - two Corrupted Ravagers and one Corrupted Fire Bellowback, and unfortunately there’s not much in the way of tall grass to hide in. That being the case, prepare for this to be a more mobile, melee affair. There are three damage types you’ll be exposed to, including melee, ranged, and fire, so it’s not easy to suggest a specific armor, although mitigating melee damage might be easier, as ranged and fire damage are easier to dodge.

Stay mobile and ideally use one of two fine options for defeating these machines: Ravagers are, of course, weak to fire damage, so pelting them with Fire Arrows until they’re dead will work, even if you might have to sit through three damage-over-time durations, each. The isolated Fire Bellowback shouldn’t be hard to destroy, just target the Cargo Sac and Gullet with Tear damage. Alternatively, Ravagers mean Ravager Cannons, and if you can commandeer one you can do big damage to your foes with it - perhaps enough to destroy two of the machines outright and severely damage another. However you manage it, once they’re scrap you’ll get a nice injection of XP.

Objective Rewards
For destroying the corrupted machines 8,000 XP

Dispose of the Glinthawks (left) then climb a pillar to scan the Vantage - Faro Automated Solutions (right).

Vantage Point - Faro Automated Solutions

Return to the Campfire and follow a trail to the south, southeast, passing a Shell-Walker Site along the way. Continue uphill along the trail until the trail ends at stone pillar and dispatch two Glinthawks, then use some hand-holds to climb the eastern end of this pillar. The hand holds don’t take you directly to the top, instead it’ll force you to corkscrew around the edge. Eventually, however, you’ll reach the top, at which you can scan and log the Vantage - Faro Automated Solutions .
