Horizon Zero Dawn

The Forgotten

By

North of Mother’s Watch, an outpost that is west of the Ruins, is a Scrapper site marked on your map. In between that and the campfire to the east will be a large rock formation, where you will hear someone screaming for help. You’ll have to climb up to her in order to start the sidequest, which you can do on the southern side, where you’ll find footholds. Olara’s brother, Brom, was cast out of the tribe, but his sentence has ended and he hasn’t returned yet. You offer to help find him, so start off by looking at his camp, which is located to the west.

When you get close enough to the camp, you will find two Watchers patrolling it, so take them out and enter the small camp. Walk up to the campfire and examine it when prompted, then you’ll have to track a trail with your Focus. Press R3 to bring it out and look for the purple trail. Once you find it, press R1 to track it, which means that you’ll be able to see the trail without your Focus equipped. The trail will lead up a small path, to a knife. Examine this and track the trail from this to the next object of interest, a bucket.

When you arrive at the camp, you will have to kill a few Watchers (left). You will be tracking a long trail in this quest (right).

The trail from the bucket will be a longer one, leading you all the way to some shrine right outside of Mother’s Watch. Keep trailing and you’ll come upon some Scrappers, so do what you need to do to get them out of the way, and examine the Watcher the one Scrapper was salvaging. The trail from the Watcher will lead you to the top of some rock, where there will be some supplies. As you trail this, you will come upon some of the supplies, so make sure you loot them to get a Fast Travel Pack and Full Health Potion.

Eventually, you’ll have to climb another rock formation, where you’ll locate Brom at the top, speaking to some voices in his head. You’ll get a choice as to what to say to him, but all of them will get Brom to step away from the edge to listen to you (pick the HEART option to be on the safe side). It’s the choice that comes after, when Olara appears, that determines the true outcome of the sidequest. Pick the bottom option twice to have both family members go off together, as well as get a close-up of Aloy’s smug face.
