Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Wyler and Marin Recruitment Guide

By
Jessica Dillon

Once you have established your HQ, you will need to recruit more allies for the Alliance, and Wyler and Marin are just around the corner. To do this, you will need to venture out from your HQ and begin exploring the new region. The duo are easy to recruit, and once you find them, it should only take a few minutes to have them both in your party.

Wyler and Marin will join your party at the same time.

Wyler and Marin Location

To find Wyler and Marin, you will need to head to Bounty Hill. This is the forest area down from HQ on the right side of your map near the southern edge. You will meet a new party member named Wyler, a bow-user, who is a great unit to place in the rear. Wyler asks Nowa to help him locate his sister further in. You can add Wyler to your party, but he won’t officially join you until you have found Marin.

Upon starting your adventure in Bounty Hill, you should come upon a chest at the first intersection containing a Malachite Ring. To progress the story, you will want to go left and run down the dead-end past a guard. When you find a trapped fish, a cutscene will play. You will then need to go right down to the end of the other dead-end, where you will find some bones.

Head north up the path and you will see another guard. Keep proceeding forward and a cutscene will trigger where Nowa and Wyler hear a girl scream. You will find Marin with a Plantvine, a weak enemy that can be defeated within a single hit. After this, you can officially invite Wyler to join your party and Marin will also join you as a support character. When she is in your party, the number of items you collect at each acquisition point will slightly increase, making her extremely useful to keep around.

A spiritual successor to the Suikoden series, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a classic JRPG that gives you the opportunity to recruit over 100 characters throughout your journey. Nowa, a boy from a small village, travels to the city to become a member of the Watch, only to be suckered into a plot to stop an empire from utilizing Rune-Lenses to expand their power and reach.
