Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Scarlet Recruitment Guide

By
Jessica Dillon

Scarlet is one of the many heroes in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, but can’t be recruited until you reach the midway point. She’s one of the few characters recruited through a mini-game and is easy to miss since most people will fast travel away from Impershi’arc once she becomes available to recruit. The guide below goes over how to win the sand race and recruit Scarlet.

Scarlet is a mid-game party member in Impershi’arc.

Winning the Extra Shi’arc Race

You won’t be able to recruit Scarlet until you have finished the events in Impershi’arc. This is during the part of the story when you first arrive in the desert and after you complete the sand races. Once this is done and Nowa needs to go back to HQ, head down to the dock and you will see a shark wearing bright red pants. Her name is Scarlet, she wants a rematch and if you can beat her then she will agree to join your team. The race takes place in a different course where there’s more turns and the tornadoes are easier to encounter. Be sure to avoid them while dashing between the conveyor belts.

Near the end of the track, you will go over a jump where it can be easy to get turned around, just keep going forward and you will see a conveyor belt to hit. You must complete the race within 1 minute and 12 seconds. Doing this is still rather easy and the track only takes a couple of tries to get down. Scarlet is part of your main party and has high speed and strength stats. She is a close range attacker with a charge up ability. It’s easy to overlook Scarlet, but if you’re a fan of her design, she can do decent enough damage to stay on your team.

A spiritual successor to the Suikoden series, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a classic JRPG that gives you the opportunity to recruit over 100 characters throughout your journey. Nowa, a boy from a small village, travels to the city to become a member of the Watch, only to be suckered into a plot to stop an empire from utilizing Rune-Lenses to expand their power and reach.
