Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Kurtz Recruitment Guide

By
Shane Williams

There are 120+ recruitable characters in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and they are typically obtained naturally throughout the main story, but some will require you to seek them out on your own. There are some that even require you to do something extra, which is the case with Kurtz. He will ask you to give him the Grilled Tutuva Recipe. On this page, we’ll navigate you through the necessary steps to finding the Grilled Tutuva Recipe in Treefolk Village.

The Cool, Competent Cook Kurtz Joins The Team.

Grilled Tutuva Recipe Location

Kurtz can be recruited in the capital of Euchrisse Hishahn and this is accessible shortly after completing the Proving Grounds Dungeon. Upon arrival, you’ll want to make your way over to the Blacksmith which is located in the center of the town to find Kurtz nearby. He’ll request that you bring him the Grilled Tutuva Recipe before agreeing to join your squad and this can be found by speaking with the treefolk that’s standing to the left of the top floor of Treefolk Village.

We recommend that you recruit Carrie first as this will give you access to fast travel which will save you the hassle of having to run back through all of the previous areas. The good news is she can also be found hiding in various locations around Hishahn, so you’ll need to play a game of hide & seek. Successfully finding her three times will cause her to join you. Check out our Unlocking Fast Travel page to find out where she is lurking. With Fast Travel available, open up your map and select Treefolk Village on the destinations tab to grab the recipe, then return to Kurtz and he’ll happily join your team.

Kurtz Special Ability

Kurtz is a support character who provides the squad with the skill Food’s Up which has a chance for him to cook up a delicious dish for the party before entering combat. Once you’ve recruited Kurtz, you’ll be able to build the restaurant back at the HQ and doing so will allow you to order meals which can buff your party before embarking om your next adventure. What’s more, you’ll be able to take part in the Cookoff battle storyline, which has a character to recruit at the end of it. Additionally, you won’t be able to build the Mission Guild until you’ve built the restaurant, so this is something you’ll want to do if you’re trying to recruit all characters.

A spiritual successor to the Suikoden series, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a classic JRPG that gives you the opportunity to recruit over 100 characters throughout your journey. Nowa, a boy from a small village, travels to the city to become a member of the Watch, only to be suckered into a plot to stop an empire from utilizing Rune-Lenses to expand their power and reach.
