You will be able to recruit a lot of characters in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Some of them are easy enough and join as part of the main story, while others you will have to seek out on your own. There are some of those that even require doing something extra, which is the case with Kuroto. He will ask you to kill five Wild Boars before he joins you, which is something you may have done already before meeting him. This page will detail where to find Kuroto, as well as where to find the Wild Boars.

Kuroto Location¶

The first time you can recruit Kuroto is when you first arrive in Eltisweiss, which happens after the prologue bit. This is when you are told by Ymir to recruit some characters to the Watch. Once this occurs, you can exit Eltisweiss to explore the Grum County map, which is where you will find Altverden Village in the southwestern corner. Go inside the town and look in the southwestern corner to find a man standing in front of a building.

Kuroto is found in Altverden Village, in the southwestern corner of it.

Speak to him and he’ll introduce himself as Kuroto, an expert hunter. He recognizes that you are special and offers to join, although you will need to do something first to prove your worth. Kuroto will ask you to do a hunt yourself, which will require you to defeat five Wild Boars. Depending on what you’ve done prior to meeting with Kuroto, it’s possible you’ve defeated enough, so you might not need to go hunt down these creatures.

Wild Boar Location¶

Thankfully, you won’t need to go to great lengths to hunt down the Wild Boars, as they are found in the Redthroat Ridge area. This is a dungeon found on the eastern end of Grum County and is actually part of a few other recruitment opportunities (Yume and Mellore). The boars are simply random enemies found there, so it could only take a few encounters (there’s one fight that is just two boars, for example) or depending on your luck, it might take 20-30 minutes. The Wild Boars do seem to be a little more common the deeper into the dungeon you go, so if you’re not having luck near the beginning, then try a later section.

There is one random battle that will have two Wild Boars, which helps a lot.

To be on the safe side, if you didn’t get confirmation from him previously that you’ve defeated five boars, then you should make sure you do all five when you visit Redthroat Ridge. The only reason for doing that is because it’s a fair distance between the dungeon and the town, so you don’t want to go back and forth repeatedly if you visited the dungeon prior to this.

Once you’ve got the five Wild Boars, return to Altverden Village and speak to Kuroto, who will finally join your party.
