Reaching the Isle of the Gods Choices¶
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is split into three major Acts, and although the Isle of the Gods is the first one beyond the point of no return, it is technically the final quest of Act 2 (even though it’s the start of the finale). Once you reach the quest, When Plans Align, you’ll be warned that you’re about to enter the point of no return, make sure you do as much as possible to push the odds in your favor before continuing. The following will impact how the final quests in the game will play out:
-
Make sure all of your characters have Hero of the Veilguard status by finishing their questlines
-
Achieve a 3 Star rating with each of Factions in Northern Thedas
-
Complete The Heart of Corruption and the Regrets of the Dread Wolf side quests
If you’ve managed to achieve all of this, you’re more than ready to head into the game’s finale with favorable odds. You’ll be able to easily obtain the game’s best ending if you make the right choices during the final three quests.
Choice: Sending Davrin or Harding to Lead the Second Team¶
You’ll get this first major choice at the start of the Isle of the Gods quest, and it’s a big one. Without trying to spoil too much, your choice here has a lasting impact for the rest of the game, you’ll be without the other for the remaining quests. Although there is no wrong choice here, keep that in mind when making your choice.
So, it all comes down to who you find the most useful out of the two Companions. You may want to weigh in whether any of these Companions are your romantic interest, or whether they have Hero of the Veilguard status, if one of them don’t, then choose them to lead the second team. In terms of combat, Davrin loses out here as Taash has very similar tools to Davrin, meaning you can afford to lose access to one of them.
Choice: Sending Bellara or Neve to Take Down the Magical Wards¶
The second, and final, major choice for the Isle of Gods happens around the halfway point of this lengthy quest, and you must choose which of the two Mages will take down the Magical Wards so you can continue. This is a similar choice to the above, in the fact that whoever you choose to go will be unavailable as a selection for the rest of the game.
The same considerations, then, come into play. Is one of these characters your current romantic interest, is Neve hardened after choosing Treviso over Minrathous? Do note, that if you choose Neve, you’ll be forced to choose Lucanis for a future choice (your choice is between him and Neve), which isn’t the worst thing in the world because that’s the best selection for that choice anyway.
With that said, you’ve now made all of the major choices in the Isle of the Gods, there’s no going back from this, so you’re locked in for the rest of the conclusion of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, hopefully you’re happy with the choices you made!
