Spirits of the Dalish Starting Location

Once you’ve reached the main quest Signs and Portents, head over to the Ruins Reach area which is located to the southeast of Arlathan Forest and speak with the spirit on the boat. Unfortunately, it’s distressed and on the verge of transforming into a demon so you’ll need to ease his suffering by discovering what happened to their clan.

Find the Clan’s Mementos

You’ll now need to track down five of the clan’s mementos which are scattered around the Arlathan Forest.

Clan’s Memento Location #1

The first of the clan’s mementos can be found by heading north from the starting point and going up the first set of stairs, then immediately look to the right to find a bunch of enemies gathered next to a large wolf statue. The toughest opponents here are the ones with the shields. If they have blue shields then you’ll want to create some distance and strike them with your class’s exclusive ranged attack (Rogue: Bow, Warrior: Shield Toss and Mage: Staff). Alternatively, if they have yellow shields then you’ll want to use heavy attacks to strip it down.

Once all of the enemies have been dealt with head over to the southern end of the circle on the minimap to find a corpse holding a halla statuette underneath a rock.
