Romance and Dragon Age goes hand-in-hand, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard is no stranger to it. In fact, you’ll be able to romance any character in the game regardless of your Race and Gender, which is a welcome change. Lucanis Dellamorte won’t become a member of the team until you’ve completed the main quest Sea of Blood and if you want to romance him, then you’ll need to make sure you’re selecting the correct dialogue choices throughout your adventure. Lucanis’ Major Choices¶

Some of your companions get the most major choices in the game beyond committing to a relationship or not. Lucanis will get one major choice and you can learn about them below:

Save Treviso or Minrathous¶

During the main quest A Man’s Best Friend main quest, dragons will attack both Minrathous and Treviso, and you must make a decision on which city you will help. This is a permanent choice, the one you don’t choose will become blighted and the associated companion (Neve for Minrathous, Lucanis for Treviso) will become Hardened and distant for a while. For Neve, this means you’ll never be able to romance her but Lucanis can still be romanced, you’ll just need a lot more approval and to wait until he opens up again.

If you want to romance Lucanis, make sure you choose to save Treviso when given the choice, as it will make your life much easier. For more information on this massive choice and its consequences, check out our Save Treviso or Minrathous.

Committing to an Exclusive Relationship with Lucanis¶

Lucanis can always be found in the room behind the dining room in the Lighthouse and you’ll want to make sure you pay him a visit throughout the game for a chat. These conversations will provide you with opportunities to flirt with her (indicated with a heart icon) and this will eventually allow you to pursue a romantic interest with him later in the game.

Pursue Romantic Interest in Lucanis¶

Head over to Lucanis back in the Lighthouse once you’ve completed the Main Quest The Cauldron and you’ll get the opportunity to make your feelings towards him known by selecting any of the dialogue option I don’t mind. If you choose any of the other three options, then the option to romance him on this playthrough will become unavailable. However, this is a non-committal choice at this stage of the game, so if you’re potentially interested in going for another romance option, then you can freely flirt with the other companions.

Exclusive Relationship with Lucanis¶

You’ll now want to continue on with the game while continuing to select choices with a heart icon when they become available, then during the Inner Demons Companion Quest (this will won’t be available if you saved Minrathous) you’ll have an opportunity to make you two exclusive by choosing the You’re sweet, you know option. This will mean you’ll no longer be able to romance the other companions on this playthrough.

Lucanis Quests¶

Lucanis has an adventure spanning questline that involves him trying to stop a mage in Treviso and you can find all of his quests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard below:
