Loyal Friends Starting Location¶
Once you’ve reached the main quest Signs and Portents, head back to the Veil Jumpers Camp which is located in the Arlathan Forest and interact with Taynore’s Journal to get this side quest underway.
Help the Missing Veil Jumpers¶
The Veil Jumpers are in a bit of bother and are in need of some assistance, so fast travel over to the Ruins Reach and cross the branch to the east then head north to reach the Shadowy Grove. Enter the Nameless Building to the west of the area and you’ll be tasked with destroying several boils to free the path. To begin, shoot the boil blocking the doorway and then head right and shoot another boil on the left before climbing up the ledge and shooting a third boil on the roof.
Head onto the roof and investigate the corpse to discover one of the veil jumpers didn’t make it, then shoot the boil opposite you and make your way back to the beginning of the area and shoot the now accessible boil to open up the path on the left. Unfortunately, Taynore is now blighted and you need to take them to prevent them from hurting anyone else.
To begin, strip down their shield by using ranged attacks (Rogue: Bow, Warrior: Shield Toss and Mage: Staff) and then use combo attacks every time they become available while weaving in fire-based attacks to its elemental weakness. With the enemies dealt with you’ll need to start looking for Gus, so head around the corner and interact with the friendly nug to trigger a cutscene.
Loyal Friends Quest Rewards¶
Once you’ve finished discovering the fate of the veil jumpers and return the nug to the camp to bring the quest to a close. You’ll be rewarded with a Nug Carving, 100 Veil Jumpers Strength, Companion Bond Increase and 500 XP.
