Like with most RPGs, Dragon Age: The Veilguard has a lot of buffs that you can get via your equipment and abilities. Any kind of buff is known as Advantages, and there are a lot of skills and equipment properties that may give your more bonuses based on whether you have an Advantage. This page will detail all of the Advantages in the game and what they do, so you don’t need to go looking every time you get a new one.

Having Advantages on your Rook can help you proc some very useful bonuses on equipment in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Every Advantage and Buff

As mentioned above, there are plenty of buffs to get to know about in Dragon Age: The Veilguard (or Advantages, as they’re known as officially). While you won’t need to rely on them too much in the lower difficulties, they become crucial in the later difficulties of Underdog and Nightmare. There is no limit to how many Advantages you can have on you at once and many skills or pieces of equipment will give you special bonuses whenever an Advantage is active, this is another reason to seek them out.

Any Advantages you have currently on you can be seen at the bottom left of the screen in green, so cast your eyes down there if you’re ever curious. The table below will go over every Advantage you can obtain:

Advantage Effect
Deflect Ignores the next impact received, resulting in no damage
Flaming Weapons Deals additional Fire damage on weapon attacks
Immovable Immune to physical reactions and interruptions
Invulnerable Immune to damage of any kind
Necrotic Weapons Deals additional Necrotic damage on weapon attacks
Penetration Ignores a portion of Defense when attacking
Precision The next Charged or Final attack on an enemy will be Critical
Quickened Ability cooldowns refresh more quickly
Rally Party Companions deal increased damage
Rejuvenation Applies healing over a period of time
Resistant Increases Resistance to all damage types
Shocking Weapons Deals additional Electric damage on weapon attacks
