This page covers the events on the Normandy after completing your first mission after the Citadel (either Therum, Feros or Noveria.) The specifics of the conversations (and hence the Codex Entries) may vary depending based upon which mission you did (your trip back to the Normandy after Therum will be decidedly Liara-focused), but as a general rule your crew will have more things to say after each mission.

Joker will start out by being cute, after which you’ll chat with the crew about the mission on Therum and Liara’s future role on the Normandy. Not only is her knowledge incredibly useful for this whole Conduit/Reaper/Prothean business, but the fact that Saren wants her means we might as well keep her close. After Liara’s added to the team, Joker will ask if you want to be patched through to the Council. You know, it’s kind of your job as a Spectre to keep them informed. Nothing comes of this, however, not even any Paragon/Renegade points, so feel free to answer how you please, if indeed you choose to suffer their presence at all.

Exit out to the CIC and search the “Point Defense Systems” terminal near Pressly, then head up to the Bridge, examining two “Heat Load Monitors” along the way. When you’re on the Bridge check out the “Gunnery Station” to the right. All of these yield Codex Entries.

Backtrack to the CIC and head down to the Quarters level, where you can talk to Kaiden and Liara for some Codex Entries. Depending on your gender (or not, in the case of Liara), you might also be able to start flirting

Finally, head down to Engineering, where you can talk to Ashley, Garrus, Tali and Wrex to score more Codex Entries and perhaps flirt with Ashley. Also be sure to check out the “Core Charge Status” terminal near Engineer Adams.

With that, you’re done on the Normandy. You can now get back to exploring space, tracking down existing assignments, or turn you attention to either Feros or Noveria. Alternatively, you can return to the Citadel. Just as the Normandy will have new things to do after each main mission, so will the Citadel, and there are more assignments you can pick up if you return there now.
