This Assignment can be accepted at any point after you gain access to the Galaxy Map for the first time. It takes place on an Uncharted Planet that you must explore with the Mako.

How to Begin¶

There are two ways to begin this Assignment, with the earliest being from hacking a computer on the Citadel:

• Go to the Citadel and make your way to the Embassies on the Presidium, heading into Ambassador Udina’s office. You’ll find a Computer Console [Easy] that you can hack, giving you the Alliance Report that begins this Assignment.

• Alternatively, head to the Hydra system of the Argos Rho cluster and make your way to Metgos to pick up a transmission.

Investigate Distress Call¶

Make your way over to the Hydra system of the Argos Rho cluster and you’ll find the planet Metgos which, when selected, Shepard will receive a transmission. Once planetside, make your way to the Transponder Signal to the south of your starting position and as you near the medical ship, you’ll be ambushed by the Geth.

You’ll be up against two Geth Armatures, three Geth Rocket Troopers, and two Geth Rocket Drones, a task that was much more daunting in the original version of Mass Effect. With the changes to Legendary Edition, the Mako is a far more deadly and being able to aim better with the primary gun makes the world of difference. Use that to quickly deal with the Rocket Troopers and Drones before keeping on the move to avoid the missiles from the Armatures. For these, make sure you use the main cannon with sustained bursts of fire from the primary gun to cripple and destroy them. With all of the Geth wiped out, you’ll complete the Assignment on the spot.
