This Assignment will be accepted once you gain the data at any point after you gain access to the Galaxy Map for the first time. It takes place on an Uncharted Planet that you must explore with the Mako.

How to Begin¶
This is a rather short Assignment that builds lore for Tali and has a minor consequence in Mass Effect 2. The Assignment won’t begin until you have the item in question, which is found during the UNC: Geth Incursions Assignment.
Speak to Tali¶
Your first task is to track down the item that you need to begin the Assignment. This can be found on Solcrum, in the Grissom system of Armstrong Nebula during the UNC: Geth Incursions Assignment. Once on the planet, head to the base, take care of the Geth and then head into the room on the ground floor, you’ll find a Geth Terminal (Easy Decryption) which when hacked, will give you the data needed.
Return to the Normandy and you’ll find Tali in Engineering. Go over and speak to her and you’ll get the following options:
- Saying “By wiping the geth out.” will grant you XP and earn +1 Paragon.
- Alternatively, saying “I can’t take that risk.” will grant you XP and earn 1 Renegade..
Completing this Assignment, and the outcome of your choice will have a consequence in Mass Effect 2 when you meet with Tali for the first time.
