This Assignment takes place during your second visit to the Citadel once you have completed any main mission off-world such as Liara’s Dig Site. This Assignment will only be available to those who chose Colonist as their Pre-Service History.

How to Begin¶

Before you can even start looking for this Assignment, you’ll have to ensure that your Shepard’s Pre-Service History is Colonist as it’s an Assignment exclusive to it (as are the ones relating to Spacer and Earthborn). With that in mind, return to the Citadel after completing any main mission on the Galaxy Map and take the elevator up to C-Sec from the Docking Bay.

As you leave the elevator, you’ll get a transmission from Lieutenant Girard with regards to someone from the same colony as Shepard that survived the attack. Make your way down to the Docking Bay and speak to Girard to receive the Sedative.

The Needle¶

As the good Lieutenant suggests, you’ll want to use the sedative on her to calm her down rather than have to resort to using his sniper. Additionally, you’ll need to be careful with how you approach her, taking care not to take too many steps forward. When you’re ready, save your game and approach Talitha.

After the initial round of questions, you’ll start seeing the option to “(Take a step towards her.)“. Be careful when you choose this, as taking too many steps forward will cause her to jump and end the Assignment. You can take one step forward for every topic you talk about under Investigate, use this in conjunction with Charm or Intimidate options until you get close enough to her to get more options available to you:

1. Choosing “Give her the sedative.” will result in you earning +8 Paragon for peacefully having her take the sedative.
2. Choosing “Use the sedative.” will result in you forcefully using the sedative and earn +9 Renegade.
3. Alternatively, you can let Girard’s Snipers take her down and earn +9 Renegade.

Regardless of the outcome, the Assignemnt will come to an end following your encounter. If Talitha survives the encounter, you’ll hear from her in Mass Effect 2.
