This Assignment takes place during your first visit to the Citadel once you have met the council for the first time and after you’ve accepted the Rita’s Sister Assignment.

How to Begin¶
You won’t be able to begin this Assignment until you’ve first accepted Rita’s Sister and then leave the Upper Wards area (so that you see a loading screen) and then return to Flux. As you approach the stairs leading into the club, you’ll see a scene where a Salarian by the name of Schells is tossed out for cheating. When you’re ready, approach the Salarian and agree to assist him to begin the Assignment (you can’t begin this Assignment without agreeing to help).
Scan the Machines¶
Before you even get to the heart of the matter, you can end this Assignment right now by simply marching up to Doran and hand over the device to him. Doran will thank you for handing it over and you’ll obtain some XP and Credits to use on the machine (or don’t). You’ll then need to deliver the bad news to Schells to end the Assignment for no further reward.

If, however, you decide to go along with the plan, make your way into Flux and head over to the Casino. You’ll need to play Quasar and win 5 times and then the device will alert you that enough data has been collected. Choose to ignore this and win 2 more times and you’ll get the device confiscated by Doran and you’ll end up with no rewards. Return to Schells once you have the data however and you’ll get to keep the winnings along with some XP.
