How to Begin¶

You can begin this Assignment as soon as you’ve had your first Council meeting on the Citadel however you won’t be able to see the outcome until after you’ve progressed the story a little. Begin by making your way to the Upper Markets to run into a man named Conrad Verner at the top of the stairs leading to the Lower Markets.

First Visit¶

Your first run-in with Conrad will result in him asking you for an autograph, oblige him to keep him happy and he’ll run off for now. None of your choices here have a major impact on the overall outcome of the Assignment so feel free to choose any.

Second Visit¶

Once you’ve successfully become a Spectre and have completed one of the main missions on the Galaxy Map such as Therum, return to the Citadel and you’ll find Conrad in the same place. This time he’ll ask for a picture and depending on how you answer, will determine his fate.

1. Saying “I suppose.” or “Go ahead.” will progress this Assignment to a final stage later in the game.
2. Saying “No! Get out of here!” will end the Assignment here with no further outcome.

Third Visit¶

Provided you didn’t shut Conrad down in your second visit to the Citadel, you’ll have one final encounter with him once you complete yet another main mission on the Galaxy Map. This time, he expresses his desire to become a Spectre and you’ll get the following choices:

1. Saying “Let’s talk about trust.” (2 points of Charm) will convince Conrad to return home and earn +8 Paragon.
2. Saying “Here’s a test.” (3 points of Intimidate) will result in Shepard what really comes with being a Spectre and earn +9 Renegade.

Any other choice will result in Conrad pressing on with his desires at a fatal cost to himself, at which point he won’t show up in later games.
