Vineshroom Locations - Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

By
Jarrod Garripoli

The Vineshroom can be one of the more annoying materials to find and gather in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The reason for that is because they grow on the bottom of the floating islands, so getting them is lot more difficult than the ordinary materials. This page will detail where to find the Vineshroom, as well as tips and tricks for harvesting it.

The Vineshroom can be a hard material to grab, since it requires your Ikran.

Where to Find the Vineshroom in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

From the name alone, players might think that Vineshroom is a mushroom that grows on vines. However, that’s not the case for this resource, and finding Vineshroom without the help if your Ikran can be difficult, if not impossible. The reason for this is that Vineshrooms are only found on the bottom of the floating mountains throughout Pandora. That means it isn’t exclusive to the Kinglor Forest, so anywhere you see a floating island, you might find a Vineshroom underneath it.

Since you are restricted to Kinglor Forest for the first portion of the game, you’ll need to find somewhere within this region where you can reliably harvest Vineshrooms. You don’t have to look very far, either, as you can see the mass of floating mountains found above the Shadow Wood area, in the southwestern portion of Kinglor Forest. Due to the location of their spawn, you won’t really be able to get these on foot, so you’ll need to wait until you have unlocked your Ikran.

Vineshroom Uses

Mushrooms are primarily a cooking ingredient, with the Vineshroom giving the Ambush effect when it’s used (more stealth damage). Additionally, the Sunshade Silks Na’vi camp will require one of these for its Community Contributions. Note that in this case, it will need to be a Vineshroom of Superior or Exquisite quality. We’ll show you a location for these further down the page.

(1 of 4) One good place in the first region is the floating mountains above Shadow Wood.

How to Harvest the Vineshroom

As mentioned above, you won’t be able to get the Vineshroom on foot, as they tend to be too high up for you to reach them. You will have to wait until you unlock your Ikran, since you’ll need to be flying to grab the Vineshrooms. Unlike other materials that you can gather by pressing a button, Vineshrooms are harvested in a different way. You won’t actually gather it like normal items, but instead, your character will just reach out and grab it whenever you get close enough.

Of course, you want to make sure that you aren’t holding a weapon in your hand while trying to do this, as it seems you won’t be able to get the item while wielding one. If you see the blue dot on the bottom of the Vineshroom, then that means you will be able to grab it upon getting close enough (no button prompt needed). It may take a few tries to get it just right, as it might be a bit finicky.

Where to Find Rarer Vineshrooms

Luckily, you won’t have to go too far in tracking down the Superior and Exquisite qualities of the Vineshroom. You will just need to go higher up on the floating mountains to find them. The higher up you fly, the bigger the chance that you will find one of the rarer versions.
