There are several resources you can gather for cooking and crafting in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, but some of them can be difficult to find. You’ll be able to find River Rock Shells scattered around the Upper Plains, but they are tricky to spot due to their size, so if you are struggling to find River Rock Shells then continue reading for tips on how to find them!

Where to Find River Rock Shells in Avatar¶
River Rock Shells can only be found in the second region, known as the Upper Plains, so you’ll need to progress through the story until you have completed the 11th main mission, The Wandering Clan. You’ll now want to look for Petrified Trees which are commonly found within the Upper Plains. However, they can be found more frequently in the Shattered Forest biome such as The Stone Hold. Upon finding a Petrified Tree you’ll want to climb on top of it to find the River Rock Shells, but they’re pretty small so you may require the assistance of your Na’vi Sense to help spot them.
What are River Rock Shells Used for in Avatar?¶
There are Fine, Superior, and Exquisite versions of River Rock Shells, but the better qualities aren’t easy to come by as certain requirements need to be met before they can show up. These are required to craft a variety of improved Headpieces which means you’ll be able to take more damage in battle when equipped. This is a necessity when you start progressing into the third and final region of the game as the enemies become a lot stronger.

How to Get Exquisite River Rock Shells in Avatar¶
You’ll want to try and get the best stats possible when you’re crafting your new Headpiece, and you can increase your chances of doing so by acquiring Exquisite River Rock Shells. These can be found by looking at the top of the small rocks which are scattered along the river. More specifically, on the Rock-Strewn River that can be found in the Stone Hold sub-region of the Upper Plains. When you go to harvest the River Rock Shell, you’ll want to pull the analog stick to the left to keep it in pristine condition.
